Reigning World Ironman Champion Craig Alexander from Australia winning the Asia Pacific Ironman Championship in Melbourne, March 25 2012, breaking the 8 hour mark while doing so in a time of 7:57:44.

Alexander is followed by Cameron Brown of New Zealand who has won Ironman New Zealand a record 10 times. Brown set a personal best for the distance in a time of 8:00:12.

I find it incredibly impressive that first place was taken by a 38 year old, and second by a 39 year old, beating many younger competitors in the process. In the sports world, many athletes are retired by the age of 35. It’s great to see these two warriors running the shoes off younger competitors.

Excellent work Craig and Cameron. I look forward to next year.
