I love the cold, clear, crisp days of early winter. No wind today. Love it.
Booking Time
I love books and libraries. Ever since I learnt to read, I've spent much more time than I should reading books. Since I started using the internet, I read fewer books and I'd like to change that. I have a huge shelf of books waiting to be read, but when I find time to read, I'll often feel too tired to start something new. Instead, I will pick up a favourite book (I have a huge shelf of those too), and read that.

Spaghetti Junction Part 1
Officially, the name of this part of motorway is the Auckland Central Motorway Junction. I had to look that up as I have never heard it referred to in that way. Locals call it Spaghetti Junction. If you take a look at this link, you will see why.
Autumn Paradise
Almost twenty years ago, I spent two summers picking fruit in Roxburgh, Central Otago. I love Roxburgh and it is one of the places in the world that I feel most at home. Despite that, I’ve only been back a couple of times since then, the last time a few weeks ago when I spent a night there after detouring on my trip from Queenstown to Christchurch. It was the first time I had been there during autumn, and the orchards were a mass of colour.
Roxburgh is known as the “Fruit bowl of the South”, with stone fruit such as cherries, nectarines, peaches and apricots and the largest apple orchard in the Southern Hemisphere lies in Roxburgh East. I don’t know what kind of trees these are, but I think they are likely apricot trees. The inverse of Charlie Brown’s shirt

It’s just another day in Auckland part 2
Auckland gets its fair share of unusual weather. The day had been beautiful up until this point, and I was about to photograph Rangitoto in crystal clear evening sunlight when this weather started moving in. I took this photo and left for some shelter.
