I remember having a cane basket on the front of my old “Raleigh 20” when I was a kid, that bike was my pride and joy! I was so gutted when I moved to the North Shore and the hills were too steep for me to manage with only 2 gears! So I had to say goodbye to my ruby Raleigh and got a blue tenspeed instead.
Those things were indestructible weren’t they? Jen had one too, but I think it only lasted a year or two before being replaced. Nothing like living in a city of 53 volcanoes to dampen the enthusiasm for a Raleigh 20 🙂
